December 18, 2009 - Hartford, CT.  This holiday season Fathom is sharing the gift of game. "Saucer Sled Champion: Escape from the Abominable" is Fathom's gift to clients, friends and anyone who could use some holiday cheer to end this year. In some way for all of us, 2009 has been an abominable year. Fathom thinks that the bumpy ride of the last 12 months deserves to be memorialized with a thrill ride that gives you a few icy flakes in your snow suit.

"Last year we created Saucer Sled Champion: The Holiday Showdown and had a blast doing it. This year, we had to step up the game - make it better than the first version. We just hope everyone has a great time playing and enjoys the ride," said Ben Callaghan, Fathom Art Director.

 

The new game, "Saucer Sled Champion: Escape from the Abominable", is more challenging than the original and just as entertaining. The Saucer Sled Facebook application allows players to challenge friends and post scores in the gallery. Fathom designers have thrown in a few surprises this year to make the game more exciting. 

 

The online game challenges players to win points by maneuvering the snowy slope to the finish line. Holiday obstacles are aplenty, however, (watch out for the fruitcake!) and are lurking on the slope to cause players to crash and freeze. Players can use one of the celebrity characters, such as Tiger Woods or Sarah Palin, or create a character by uploading their own image, and post their score in the gallery. Players can also post scores to Facebook and use the Facebook app to send direct challenges to friends.

 

The game does come with one disclaimer: Fathom is not responsible for any decrease in productivity hours or loss of interest in other games.
