He has been featured on CNN, FOX, Businessweek, The Wall Street Journal, Ad Age and shares his message to NFL players and fans annually at the Super Bowl. Prior to his speaking career Kaplan served as U.S. Diversity Programs Leader at Deloitte. Kaplan also serves on the corporate advisory board of ALPFA, the nation’s largest Latino professional association.

In addition to his client work, Brent is an advocate for the maker culture and is engaged with the Advanced Manufacturing, Architecture, Engineering and Construction industries, serving as a strategic advisor to the organizations that support them. With a bias toward provoking new ways of seeing the world and taking action to change it, Brent speaks at events around the country and is regularly featured in regional and national publications.

She has 15 years of marketing and business development experience in the A/E/C industry. Throughout her career, Kathy has embraced a client-focused business model. Whether assessing a company’s CRM system or linking sales metrics to client behavior, she continually asks the question: “What is best for the client?”

Kathy is also a contributing author of the SMPSMarketer magazine and Professional Services Marketing Journal (PSMJ). She was also the President of the Connecticut chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).

David Salinas, Founder, District New Haven
David Salinas

David is a serial entrepreneur and the founder and visionary behind District New Haven, a modern day technology and innovation ecosystem and real estate development, as well as the co-founder and former CEO of Digital Surgeons, a full-service digital agency servicing Fortune 500 clients. In addition, David recently founded the District Innovation and Venture Center, a 501c3 in an effort to support the technology and entrepreneurial needs of the region.

David’s big shift to entrepreneurship started in 2006 where he co-founded Digital Surgeons and served as its CEO for over a decade. Under David’s leadership the agency delivered award-winning results for everyone from Lady Gaga to United Technologies. Today, Digital Surgeons is considered one of the preeminent privately owned agencies in the country, having won dozens of awards including the coveted Webby Award and was named Top Ten Agency for Startups.
