Before it, the four-minute mile was unattainable. Summiting Mount Everest was beyond the scope of human capacity. Without it, the seemingly impossible remains concretely so. In fact, faith is the only thing on this side of “impossible” able to carry us across the threshold into the realm of “done.”

Attempting to achieve success in the face of mounting struggles (skyrocketing rates of depression, the rapid increase of anxiety disorders, a “loneliness epidemic”) is leading many to personal despair. Americans as a society are more divided and less connected than ever before. To overcome, we need audacious goals and restorative systems, but we need more than that – we need to believe that we can.

No one knows this better than those attempting to right the wrongs of injustice. In the face of genocide, exploitation, and violent oppression there must be an unwavering belief that healing and hope are possible. Amirah Inc, an organization that seeks to “provide refuge for survivors of sexual exploitation on their journey towards lasting hope,” faces this reality each day and with every new ambition.

Join Mike Distefano, Amirah’s Director of Faith and Justice Initiatives, to consider the possibility of taking on the impossible. We’ll feel together, dream together, believe together and find surprising joy in solutions that already lay “within.”
