I have always been attracted to doorways. While traveling, I often find myself wondering, imagining what lies behind a shut door. When entering my own home there is always a deep sense of comfort I get when I come through the door.
Leading our Sip Session is Erica Thompson, recently installed as senior minister of Asylum Hill Congregational Church, the first female senior minister in the church’s 155-year history.
Physically, doorways are thresholds they take you from one space to another. Symbolically, thresholds can do the same they can take you from a particular season in your life to another. The wonderful thing about threshold moments is that they give us an opportunity to decide – what from the past do we take with us as we move into the future, and what do we simply leave behind. What about the past serves us in the future, and what doesn’t? I look forward to being in conversation with you about the importance of thresholds in your own life!
