Corridor Ventures
WHAT WE DID
Through the Fathom Transform process, Corridor declared a bold new 10-year vision, defined their purpose of creating vehicles through which everyone they touch can realize a super-compounding life, identified new organizational objectives and priorities, and created a new purpose-driven operating system to keep the realization of this future and these objectives on track and on-purpose. The Fathom team collaborated with Corridor to craft a next-generation brand strategy, messaging platform, visual identity and core brand expressions.

Some are happy to allow the future to unfold as it may, with intermittent thoughts on designing outcomes that outpace competitors. Others are deeply dissatisfied with the status quo, and work to find ways to swim against the normal business tides until they arrive at an amplified future.

Corridor Ventures is an organization that clearly falls into the latter category.

For over two decades, Corridor Co-Founders Hagan Brown and Dan Joseph have operated a successful real estate investment, advisory, and management firm. But they sensed that if they shifted their focus from day-to-day operations to one where everyone in their community could realize a ‘super-compounding’ future, they would build a business with significant value beyond the sum of its assets.

But how to get there?

The next chapter of Corridor’s future required a different strategy, a different mindset, and a reinvigorated culture. Fathom Co-Founder Brent Robertson started this journey by asking the question, “What’s the purpose of this next chapter?”

The Fathom team helped Corridor facilitate the process of forming a bold vision and a powerful purpose – and the rigorous practice of bringing this future and what the organization stands for to life. This included a new way of thinking around amplifying the talent of the team, the decision-making process and how key investments should be launched. Through adopting this super-compounding mindset, the Corridor team created a clear path forward, amplified their success, and began generating more abundance for everyone involved.

The notion of a super-compounding mindset speaks to the Corridor culture and attitude. The idea that ‘You can come to Corridor, and anything is possible’ paired with the philosophy that ‘You can choose to do your job and do it well, and you will share in the performance of the organization.’ Or you can say ‘I want to build something here inside of the organization’ – Corridor’s leadership team makes it happen, and pledges to mentor and sponsor any employee in achieving their goals. When all team members are aligned with the overarching vision, anything is possible.

It’s this altruistic idea that anyone Corridor comes into contact with – employees, clients, community members – can have this opportunity, and this choice.

Hagan Brown, Co-Founder and Principal of Corridor Ventures, commented, “Working with Fathom allowed us to get our ambitions out of our heads, crystallized in language, and into action, together as a team. The Transform process the Fathom team led us through really inspired us and our bold thinking, giving us the means to create a future vision worthy of our commitment and energy.”

The end result?

Through the Fathom Transform process, Corridor declared a bold new 10-year vision, defined their purpose of creating vehicles through which everyone they touch can realize a super-compounding life, identified new organizational objectives and priorities, and created a new purpose-driven operating system to keep the realization of this future and these objectives on track and on-purpose.

As Corridor progressed along the Transform journey, it also became clear that their brand and all of the ways that Corridor presented itself to the marketplace was not aligned with their future vision.

The Fathom team collaborated with Corridor to craft a next-generation brand strategy, messaging platform, visual identity and core brand expressions.

Then, Kristina Karlson, Fathom’s Director of Design, translated the new organizational narrative and messaging into a visual identity system that is aligned with Corridor’s world-class capabilities and their super-compounding mindset. The new brand was launched in October 2022 and immediately repositioned Corridor as a leader in the marketplace.

Kristina Karlson commented, “A lot of energy is created by launching a new visual identity system. It was exciting to see the Corridor team feeling emboldened by their new brand and seeing how it can help turn their vision into reality.”

Dan Joseph, Co-Founder and Principal at Corridor Ventures, agreed, “It’s one thing to create a plan and put it into action, but to see that future vision expressed in a brand that represents everything we want to accomplish makes it feel so real and achievable!”

Actions & Outcomes

Already, Corridor is seeing amplified growth. Within 18 months, Corridor has made incredible progress on their 10-year future vision, both increasing the value of the company and investing resources back into the business and growing the team.

Lessons & Takeaways For All Teams

  1. Craft clear and powerful language to declare what your organization stands for and to serve as a “True North” for establishing priorities and making decisions.
  2. Develop a ‘Purpose-driven operating system’ with a long-term vision. Get really clear on what your future vision looks like, and how your organization will operate in the near- and long-term.
  3. Break that future vision down into objectives and key results. Identify clear company priorities. Look at the business structure now, and how you would like it to look in the future.
  4. Ensure that your brand is up to the job of attracting the business opportunities and the talented team members you’ll need to realize your future vision. It should convey the excitement of what you are out for in the world.
